Nelson Mandela said “no one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion.  People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”

I’m very sure he got this wrong.

It’s true no one is born hating… however I am certain everyone is born loving and it’s absolutely not something that can be taught, it’s something that just is and our only job is to remember, to dial back in, to reconnect with that totally natural, authentic part of ourselves.

That’s really the outcome, the end result of practicing compassion, loving-kindness and mindfulness– the reconnection to the love that’s already within all of us.love and hate

Returning to love is what we must work on, cultivate and practice if we have any hope of happiness, peace and authentic joy.

When we do that, we don’t have to work on not hating because the two can’t exist together.

Learning to hate is just forgetting to love.

I think It’s just that simple.
