Always desiring what is awesome and avoiding what sucks keeps me on a hamster wheel that never really gets me anywhere.  It’s elusive how I can feel so good in a moment by pursuing what I externally desire… only to be left with a residue of greed, envy, anger and increased desire.  Like a drug, chasing desire requires more and more and more. I finally concluded that most desire can never be satisfied.. working on the cause of the desire increased my happiness enormously.

Buddha called this the second Noble Truth.
