On the morning of September 1, 2012 I decided to commit to writing again. I’d stopped for way too long. I’d stopped and started a hundred times over 25 years. The stop / start was killing me because writing is the one thing I love almost more than anything. Every excuse ever imagined got in the way.
Since September 1st, 2012 I have written every single day and have not missed even once. Zero excuse, zero fail, no matter where I am, how I feel or what’s going on. Period.
Research says it takes 66 days to change a behavior, to form a new habit.
I’ve been at it now 1,255 days.
The only thing that changed was I asked someone to hold me accountable.
