Practicing non-judgement and open mindedness as much as possible, I watched the Republican convention speech.  I’ll do the same with the Democratic version.

I appreciate entering situations that allow me to practice discernment and compassion.

The more I listened, the more out of place I felt.  I don’t recognize the world being described.

I am not accustomed to focusing on what’s wrong versus what’s right.  I’m a fan of evidenced based reality so I’m not interested in avoiding what’s wrong, I just have found that words have incredible power and compassion brings incredible solutions to our troubles.

And, mostly, when I’m really working on myself and my world, I don’t have time to talk about others.

Practice, then pause.

When in doubt, pause.

When angry, pause.

When tired, pause.

When stressed, pause.

and when you pause, pray.
